Spending time in God’s word is the most underrated activity I have ever known.
My life changed when I started getting into God’s word!
The Bible did more reading of my soul than I did reading it.
That’s because God’s word is not just words on paper in a book.
“For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”Hebrews 4:12 NKJV.
If you have been studying God’s word for years,
That’s incredible!
I hope this post only inspires you more.
This post is also for those who might be ready to start studying the Bible for the first time!
How exciting!
In this post, I will share with you my personal favorites and in our experience,
The Best Bible Study Essentials of 2023!
- Bible
I absolutely adore this Bible!
It has a very durable burlap fabric tightly wrapped around a sturdy hard cover!
I love the color and appearance of this Bible, honestly!
My favorite part of this Bible is that every page has a blank page beside it; so I can make a lot of notes!
I have only seen this style Bible in NKJV, which happens to be the version I use most.
I believe it will enhance your Bible Study time greatly!
- Pens
I have used these pens for years and they are still just as vibrant!
I love using a lot of color inside my Bible, not only for color-coding certain themes I find in God’s word, but also to signify important shifts in each passage.
I also use color to express the emotion of each passage so when I return, I remember on the spot, exactly what kind of emotion was behind the story.
Good quality and attention grabbing!
Overall a great tool for studying!
- Highlighters
Good Bible highlighters are so hard to find!
Bible pages are so thin, highlighter bleeding seems impossible to avoid.
Not with these highlighters!
By far the best Bible highlighters I’ve used!
They are not made from wax like other Bible highlighters yet they don’t oversaturate the area!
They are water-based yet very precise and clean.
Not to mention the colors that just make highlighting much more visually pleasing to my neutrals and pastel-loving eyes!
- Bible Tabs
Not everyone likes to color code their Bibles but I like to be able to push my studying forward by providing breadcrumbs for myself to use later!
Colored Bible tabs helps me keep track of certain themes so if I see another theme like it later on, I don’t need to guess where I last saw that same theme.
I love seeing God’s character continuously remain faithful throughout scripture, so color coded Bible tabs allow me to subtly book mark certain passages so I can go back to them when I find parallel concepts in my study time.
Highly recommend if you love going seeing the symmetry of the Old Testament and the New Testament!
Remembering God’s faithfulness will strengthen your relationship with Him like never before!
- Sticky Notes
Okay, any sticky notes will do, but come on…
Tan sticky notes gives me such a vintage feeling!
It has the classic appearance of aged paper, yet each piece of note paper is very thick.
I appreciate these little details!
I recommend these sticky notes if you like making little notes or scripture cards, but you like a more classic look.
- Index Cards
This is something I did a lot throughout my faith journey and I still do it to this day!
I write scripture that I want to remember and apply throughout the day, on index cards!
Then, I carry the index cards with me and take them out as reminders for myself throughout the day; or post them where I can see them at work or around the house!
Not only is this a great memorization method, but it really helps you remember the truth, even when your Bible is closed.
Sometimes you just need to see God’s word in front of you, everywhere you go!
- Notebook
Here is my favorite part because I actually made a couple notebooks for this new season, that you can use in your daily Bible study time!
This is
the Hungry Still? Time with Jesus Journal;
Crafted specially for those who love to journal during their daily time in God’s word!
It’s format is not intimidating for a beginner, at the same time, it is very helpful for the seasoned Christian!
This journal is very great resource to keep you focused on the passage that God puts on your heart, each day.
I used this format for over 6 years to help me grow closer to God and stay attentive to the core message of each passage.
Then we have a more general version if you want to format your study in your own way.
The Hungry Still? Journal!
Our signature color is the theme of these notebooks, but it also adds a nice autumn aesthetic to your study area!
I hope you love these products!
They were made with love with you and your faith journey in mind!
